So I’m playing a home game with the rest of the StoneColdBluff crew; Duff, Tievoli and Kels. Tievoli is doing extremely well and catching some miracle cards to turn his rags into monsters.
A prime example of how lucky this guy gets can be shown in one paticular hand I played.
Im on the big blind ($50/$100 no limit hold em cash game) , Tievoli is to my left who raises UTG to $300. The rest of the table folds and I look down to see pocket 9’s. Lovely. I have about $1,500 left from a starting stack of $5,000 and so I decide to lump all in knowing that Tievoli who has been playing agressivley all night is sure to call. He calls.
I flip over my nines, he turns over AJu. The flop comes down J J 9. No way, he’s got trips! Wait.. I’ve got full house! Yes! About time someone took a pot off this guy.
The pot is practically mine. Theres not a lot left in the deck to save him apart from another Jack or an Ace.
The turn comes down a 3. I smile and start to gather the pool of chips in front of me. The river card comes down another 3.
OUCH!
I’ve got a house of Nines full of Jacks. The last two cards give Tievoli a house of Jacks full of Threes. He scoops down the pot!!
This one makes it into the history books as the worst bad beat I have ever seen.
Lucky sod! I’ll get you next time T.
