So I managed a reasonable 56 out of 455 in the V points freeroll – after getting slightly too aggressive for my own good (my gear changing had been near perfect up until then) – and I then went on to win the other freeroll and came first 1 of 306 winning a stunning prize of $13.50 (i’m typing up my resignation letter in a mo!)

When a player folds to your raise and asks “What did you have?”, give him multiple answers. Use words like “maybe” a lot. Don’t give a definative answer. It will trigger weaker players to look you up.

Ok so theres been a min raise in front of me, and a flat call behind me. Theres currently 2 lots of 8,000 in the pot, plus my BB of 4,000 making a total of 20,000 in the pot. It’s only another 4,000 to me to try to win 20,000 so purely for a bit of value I decide to call.

Ok, so now Im faced with a decision. The guy in front of me has good enough cards to call a min raise with preflop and he comes out betting into the flop. Pretty low cards though and it’s also a minimum bet. I think he is on a steal and I beleive I have the best hand holding top pair with an average kicker. I want to make a pot-size bet but that would put me all in. However, if I am going to win this pot I need to push the other guy out. I decide to lump in the hope that the original min raiser was raising with a drawing hand like AK or AJ. I can say with certainty that the guy who was first to bet was on a blatant steal. I decide to push.
